Understanding the price
One troy ounce equals 31.1034768 grams, so one kilogram contains approximately 32.1507 troy ounces.
Spot is a metal reference price, not an offer to buy or sell a coin or bar. Dealer premiums, delivery and any applicable taxes can change your purchase cost, while a resale offer may be below spot.
How to calculate the silver price per kilogram
USD per kilogram = USD per troy ounce × 1,000 ÷ 31.1034768.
A hypothetical price of $30 per troy ounce equals about $964.52 per kilogram and $0.9645 per gram. This is a conversion example, not a current market quote.

Silver price in the USA: common questions
Is a kilogram silver bar priced at spot?
Not necessarily. Spot estimates the value of its silver content. Compare the quoted price and checkout costs, rather than treating spot value as the retail price.
Is a troy ounce the same as an ordinary ounce?
No. Precious metals use troy ounces (31.1034768 grams), not ordinary ounces (about 28.35 grams). Choose the correct unit when valuing your stack.
Does location change the weight conversion?
No. A kilogram remains 1,000 grams. Local dealer quotes and costs can differ, but conversion from a USD troy-ounce quote is the same.
